Sharing Spaces: St Julian’s
APS Hub
Spinola Bay, St Julian’s
18-19 and 25-26 April, 2026
Do you have collections of photographs or films of St Julian’s? Did you grow up in the village, or have memories of visiting family and friends there? Come to one of our open days in April to learn more about Sharing Spaces and find out how you can help us document the stories, people and events that make St Julian’s!
Sharing Spaces is a community project by Magna Żmien that welcomes those who live or have lived in St Julian’s to share memories of the town through your own collections of photos and videos. Magna Żmien’s archive of tens of thousands of digitised images and films capture everyday life in the Maltese Islands and across the world during the twentieth century, comprised of home collections donated by the public and entrusted to us to share through creative projects.
If you have collections of photographs, slides, or home videos; or if you have a great memory for people, places and events that have happened in St Julian’s over the years, please visit us during our open days on the weekend of the 18 and 19 April, or on the weekend of 25 and 26 April where you can learn about the Sharing Spaces project, explore Magna Żmien’s archive, and discover how you can contribute to this ongoing project.
Open Days in April
APS Hub in Spinola Bay will host four open days to showcase material from Magna Żmien’s past projects, including audiovisual projections and installations, and viewing stations to browse our image archive. Here you can learn about us, what we plan to do with the Sharing Spaces project throughout this year, and find out how you can work with us to capture memories of St Julian’s.
A talk about Sharing Spaces will be held at 11am on all of these days.

Memory Sessions
Between June and September we will invite those who would like to contribute more deeply to the project to get involved in separate Memory Sessions. Here you will go through collections of images with our archivists to help us identify important information and add meaningful stories and memories to help bring these images and films back to life. If you would like to be involved in these sessions, please attend one of the talks in April to learn more.
Exhibition
At the end of the year we will co-produce an installation that draws on the knowledge and memories collected over the previous months. Artists will be invited to interpret these stories in an exhibition.
